Aug. 25—Hands Across Decatur's community cooling center is open Friday through Sept. 2 due to the dangerously high temperatures in the area. It will not open on Sunday.

The center will be open from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. for the homeless or anyone who needs to get out of the heat. Lunch will be served 11 a.m. until noon daily.

On Saturday, the Notre Dame vs. Navy college football game will be on. Ice Cream On Wheels will be serving ice cream treats for Hands Across Decatur guests.

Also, HAD would appreciate donations of snacks or water for the cooling center.

Hands Across Decatur is located at 1027 Fifth Ave. S.E.
