The fellas opened the show addressing some of the big coaching news around Hampton Roads with Jack Baker retiring as Maury Head Basketball Coach (after 41 seasons and 746 wins), plus Sean Townsend stepping down as Great Bridge Head Baseball Coach and Ryan Wieck leaving as Hickory Head Softball Coach to become an Assistant Principal at Oscar Smith.
First up from a guest perspective was Warhill Softball Head Coach Tom Bunn. His Lions won their second straight state title, finishing 26-0 overall after outlasting Brookville in an 18-inning marathon match for the 3A crown. Bunn's bunch owns a record of 51-1 over the past two seasons.
In the 11 AM hour - Old Dominion shortstop Zach Rutherford out of Western Branch High in Chesapeake came on to re-live some of his top moments with the Bruins and Monarchs as well as what's ahead for him. Rutherford was chosen in the sixth round in the recent Major League Baseball Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays.
Ocean Lakes High grad Eli Harold, who also starred at the University of Virginia, came on to talk about how life in the NFL is going with the San Francisco 49ers after two seasons. Harold has his VA's Up Next Football Camp coming to Hampton Roads next month. He also delivered some passionate thoughts on Colin Kaepernick, his former teammate.
