Podcast host Alex Cooper has a knack for drawing NSFW soundbites out of A-list guests on her podcast Call Her Daddy. Not longer after pop star Christina Aguilera went on the record to talk about her oral sex technique, actress and lifestyle guru Gwyneth Paltrow took to the same couch to reflect on her dating history.
While Paltrow's most widely known relationship prior to her current marriage to TV writer Brad Falchuk was with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, she was also romantically linked to a couple of fellow actors in the '90s who remain two of the most famous men on the planet: Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck.
"I met Brad on the set of Se7en, and I think I was only 22 years old at the time," Paltrow told Cooper. "And I had seen him in Thelma & Louise and the other movies he had been in, so obviously everyone knew he was the most gorgeous movie star in America. And I got this little part in Se7en and I was so excited to meet him and Morgan Freeman, who I had grown up adoring as an actor... And we sort of said 'hi' on set, and it was major, major love at first sight. It was crazy."
After getting engaged in 1996, Paltrow and Pitt split in 1997, and she went on to date Affleck for three years. When asked by Cooper how Pitt and Affleck stacked up against each other in the bedroom, Paltrow appeared to give the question real consideration before giving a diplomatic answer, praising Pitt's raw passion and noting Affleck's "excellent" technique.
"That is really hard," she said. "Because Brad was like the sort of major chemistry, love of your life... And then Ben was, like, technically excellent."
Cooper then proposed a game of "Fuck, Marry, Kill" in which Paltrow had to choose between her three exes: Pitt, Affleck, and Martin. She ultimately said that she would choose to sleep with Pitt again, and would "remarry" Martin, adding wryly: "Ben, yeah, God bless him."
