Guests for ESPN’s Chiefs-Giants Week 8 ‘Manning Cast’ alternate MNF broadcast

The Kansas City Chiefs and New York Giants are set for a “Monday Night Football” showdown in Week 8.

ESPN enlisted the help of brothers, Eli and Peyton Manning, to provide an alternate broadcast of certain games this season. The former NFL QBs provide expert analysis, commentary, bickering, and they have a ton of great guests on their show during the course of the game.

The “Manning Cast” can be watched or streamed on ESPN2 live during the game. Their latest list of guests has officially been revealed and includes comedian Jon Stewart, NFL legend Michael Strahan, Bills QB Josh Allen and NFL legend Michael Irvin.

It’s no surprise that there aren’t any Chiefs-slanted guests this week. It’s ‘Legends Week’ in Kansas City with many former Chiefs players in town for Tim Grunhard’s induction into the Ring of Honor. That said, there should be some good commentary on Kansas City this week.

Michael Strahan, though a Giants Hall of Famer, played for Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo when he coached the defense in New York. He should be able to provide some proper insight into what’s going on with Kansas City on the defensive side of the ball, especially when it pertains to the pass rush.

There is another reason to be excited about this lineup of guests as it relates to the AFC playoff picture. The “Manning Cast” has a bit of a curse going on with current NFL players. As pointed out by StatMuse, every time a player has gone on the show they lose the following week. This week, they’ll have on Bills QB Josh Allen.

The Bills, who look like the top team in the AFC, are set to face the Jacksonville Jaguars next Sunday. Any losses among the top teams in the AFC conference help the Chiefs as they continue their pursuit toward another postseason appearance.
