Memphis Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins on Monday said that the team has given consideration to moving rookie Desmond Bane into the starting lineup following a string of recent productive performances.

The Grizzlies have dealt with a rash of injuries to begin the season and have yet to finalize a firm starting lineup since losing Ja Morant to an ankle injury on Dec. 28. The team has gone with Tyus Jones in place of Morant, while they have used a few other players at the other guard position.

Bane totaled 18 points through his first three games of the season but is averaging 13 points over the past three games. He has seen a bigger role since Morant went down, and has given the Grizzlies nice production off the bench, which could force Jenkins to make a move. In six games this season, Bane is shooting 50% (14-of-28) from 3-point range.

The Grizzlies (2-4) are certainly scrambling to replace Morant in the lineup, all while dealing with several other injuries. Teams will often look to try any combination of lineups in an attempt to turn things around so Bane could eventually get a bigger look in the coming days.
