Former NFL tight end and Seattle Seahawk Greg Olden has announced his eight-year-old son TJ has matched with a donor to receive a heart transplant.
Olsen announced the news via Twitter:
Not too long ago Olsen posted on Twitter grim news on what looked like the fate of his son’s heart saying, “it seems his heart is reaching its end.”
TJ was born with a congenital heart defect in 2012 and needed three open-heart surgeries. He’s been living with a modified vascular organ since he was an infant.
Olsen partnered his foundation, the Greg Olsen Foundation with the Atrium Health's Levine Children's Hospital in North Carolina to create the HEARTest Yard program, aimed to raise money for children with congenital heart diseases.
