Green Bay Packers' concessions vendor to resolve erroneous charges from Sunday's game
GREEN BAY – Technology is great when it works. But when it doesn't? Not so much.
Some Green Bay Packers fans attending Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears might notice duplicate charges on their credit and debit cards if they bought items at concession stands, the result of a software problem with the company Delaware North uses to process payments. Delaware North is the Lambeau Field concessionaire.
The Packers defeated the Bears 27-10 before 78,350 fans.
Lambeau Field is cashless, so fans have no choice but to use credit and debit cards or digital pay apps.
The Packers said Monday they are aware of the problem and FreedomPay, the payment processor, is voiding duplicate charges — a problem it experienced worldwide.
"Fans may notice these charges as 'pending' in their recent transactions on their credit or debit card accounts, but any duplicate charges will not be completed," the Packers posted on their website. "FreedomPay is currently voiding all duplicate transactions before they are processed, and those transactions should be voided from each customers' account shortly."
