To help you out, here are the six questions for Tuesday's MLB games, along with my breakdown and picks.
#1 OAKLAND HOME RUNS VS. CHICAGO (CHW)
0, 1, 2 or 3+ Home Runs?
Reynaldo Lopez takes the mound for Chicago, and he gets an Oakland team with 13 home runs in the past six games, the fourth-most. He has only allowed three home runs in 20.0 innings pitched, but we should see one or more today from him and the bullpen.
Pick: Oakland 2 Home Runs
#2 CHICAGO (CHW) HOME RUNS VS. OAKLAND
0, 1, 2 or 3+ Home Runs?
Chris Bassitt starts for Oakland, and he has been a strikeout machine for the most part. He has not allowed a home run in the past three games, but I like the chance one or more comes here
Pick: Chicago 2 Home Runs
#3 PHILADELPHIA SINGLES & DOUBLES VS. ARIZONA
0-2, 3, 4, 5, 6-7 or 8+ Singles? 0, 1, 2 ,3 or 4+ Doubles?
It will be hot and humid in Philly today, so I expect plenty of runs and hits off Caleb Smith and Kyle Gibson. I will ride with Philadelphia to hit plenty of singles and only two doubles as they have five doubles total in the last five games.
Pick: Philadelphia 6-7 Singles & 2 Doubles
#4 SAN FRANCISCO SINGLES & DOUBLES VS. NEW YORK (NYM)
0-2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8+ Singles? 0, 1, 2 ,3 or 4+ Doubles?
San Francisco's offense has been explosive since the deadline, and they continue to keep up their pace across the second half of the season. I have to load up here as San Fran has 12 doubles and 32 total hits over the past six games.
Pick: San Francisco 7 Singles & 2 Doubles
#5 PHILADELPHIA STRIKEOUTS & EARNED RUNS VS. ARIZONA
0-6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 or 12+ Strikeouts? 0, 1, 2 ,3 or 4+ Earned Runs?
Going against Smith, Philly could have a big road game against an Arizona team ready to wrap up the season. Back Philly to have a middle-strikeout number and higher earned runs.
Pick: Philadelphia 7+ Strikeouts & 5-7 Earned Runs
#6 NEW YORK (NYM) STRIKEOUTS & EARNED RUNS VS. SAN FRANCISCO
0-5, 6-7, 8, 9-10, 11-14 or 15+ Strikeouts? 0, 1, 2 ,3, 4 or 5+ Earned Runs?
Logan Webb is on the mound for San Francisco, and he has been a stud this season. New York is striking out a ton lately, so I will back a higher number, and lower earned run total as I favor San Francisco to win.
Pick: San Francisco 11-14 Strikeouts & 2 Earned Runs
