Gor Mahia captain Haron Shakava is appealing to the Government to rescind her decision to ban fans during the Caf Confederation Cup match.

Gor Mahia fans have been barred from attending Wednesday’s match after a section of club them vandalized part of Kasarani during a friendly against Hull City on Sunday.

“Gor Mahia is a community club that purely depends on fans and my humble appeal to the government is to allow fans to access Kasarani stadium to support the team.

"We hugely need their support in this match," Shakava said during a press conference.

Shakava is also confident that Gor Mahia will get a win against the visiting side from Algeria. “We will play as a team with one aim, to win.

"They (USM Alger) are a good side but we are a good team as well and we believe in what we can do. We have equal chances of getting the best out of this match and we will offer our best to achieve the best."

Gor Mahia are second in the Goup D with one point, two below Alger.
