VINCENT GOODWILL: Kyrie Irving basically put a line in the sand and said, I'm not taking the vaccine. No matter the injuries or whatever we got, I'm not taking it. Just how do you feel about a player who has that much power and sway, in terms of the public?

You take being a public figure very important, especially when you were mayor of Detroit. And you know how important the messaging is, especially right now. Are you disappointed in Kyrie? What is your reaction to just this overall stance, especially considering he hasn't been able to play home games for the Brooklyn Nets?

DAVE BING: I'm very disappointed in his position. I respect his position, but very disappointed. Because basketball is a team game. Team sport. And when you do-- you've let your teammates down. I mean, those three guys-- Harden, Durant, and he-- came together to win a championship.

Then he does what he's doing, and I just think it sends a terrible message, for young people in particular. If you're a team player, you'll do what you have to do to support your teammates. And I think he's let his teammates down.

VINCENT GOODWILL: For those who don't know, you're are multiple time All-Star you're clearly one of the top handful of players to ever have played this game. So when you're in a locker room with one of those guys, what type of conversation could you imagine yourself having with a Kyrie Irving?

If the goal is to win a championship and you guys have all come together, what would you say to him if you were his peer?

DAVE BING: I'd let him know that I respect the position that you've taken, but you've put us in a horrible situation. We planned on your being here, being a part of this team trying to win the championship. And now made a very selfish decision for yourself. I'd have some other things that I can't say publicly right now. But, yeah, he'd get it all. He would get it all.
