Good Morning, Illini Nation: Tickets still available for Kansas exhibition
Oct. 24—Welcome to "Good Morning, Illini Nation," your daily dose of college basketball news from Illini beat writer and AP Top 25 voter Scott Richey. He'll offer up insights every morning on Brad Underwood's team:
Roughly 10,000 tickets have been sold for Sunday's exhibition game at State Farm Center between No. 25 Illinois and No. 1 Kansas. All proceeds from the game will support the Hawai'i Community Foundation Maui Strong Fund, which will provide financial resources to alleviate the relief efforts following the wildfires that devastated the island.
With a capacity of 15,544 at State Farm Center, tickets, obviously, are still available. Tickets can be purchased at FightingIllini.com, including a new, reduced price $40 option for tickets near the top of the arena. Some closer $85 tickets are available in the 200 level, while fewer 100 level tickets at $175 and loge tickets at $300 can still be purchased.
Sunday's game, of course, will mark the return of Bill Self. The former Illinois coach went 78-24 in three seasons in Champaign in the early 2000s and is 580-132 with two national titles and two decades of Big 12 dominance at Kansas heading into his 21st season with the Jayhawks.
