Notable beyond playing for one of the top prep teams in the country this season is Quinones' international experience representing Puerto Rico in multiple FIBA events in the last two years.

Quinones made his international debut in June 2022 in Puerto Rico at the FIBA U15 Centrobasket Championship. Puerto Rico won the title with Quinones the No. 2 overall scorer in the tournament. He averaged 18.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists and shot 59 percent overall and 45 percent from three-point range as Puerto Rico won its five games by an average of nearly 56 points.

Quinones played in two international tournaments this year. In June, he helped Puerto Rico finish third at the FIBA U16 Americas Championship in Mexico. The 6-6 guard made the all-tournament team after putting up 18.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.

The 15-year-old Quinones wrapped up his summer playing for Puerto Rico at the FIBA U17 Centrobasket Championship in Belize. Puerto Rico won another Centrobasket title with its youngest player — by a decent margin — averaging six points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists while shooting 44 percent overall and 40 percent from three-point range.
