Gonzaga keeps No. 1 spot, but Ferris Mowers Men's Basketball Coaches Poll sees big changes
Gonzaga retains the No. 1 spot in the Ferris Mowers Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll after four consecutive wins to start the season. The Bulldogs, however, might not be in the same position next week as they put their ranking on the line against No. 2 UCLA Tuesday night in Las Vegas.
The Zags received 30 of 32 first-place votes in the first regular-season poll, with the Bruins claiming the other two. That sets the stage for what amounts to a unification bout Tuesday in Las Vegas, which is also a rematch of their instant classic from last season’s Final Four.
Kansas, off to a 3-0 start, holds on at No. 3. Purdue, Baylor and Duke hold the next three positions, each gaining three spots. Villanova was dealt losses by UCLA and Purdue but is still ranked seventh. Texas slips from No. 5 to No. 8, and Alabama and Memphis round out the top 10.

Oregon takes the biggest tumble from its preseason ranking, dropping 11 places to No. 23 after losing to Brigham Young. Also falling is Michigan, which slipped seven spots to No. 13 with two losses in their first five games.
BYU, meanwhile, are among six new teams in the poll, making their season debut at No. 18. Right behind them is No. 19 Arizona, which took down Michigan in emphatic fashion Sunday. St. Bonaventure is the biggest riser among teams in the preseason Top 25, jumping eight spots to No. 16.
