Could the Boston Celtics have an interest in trading for a particular Portland Trail Blazers star point guard, or is their All-NBA First Team forward simply doing due diligence amongst his Team USA peers? According to recent reports, star Celtics swingman Jayson Tatum called Blazers star floor general Damian Lillard to recruit him to the Celtics, according to Andscape’s Marc Spears.
The most recent revelation came after fellow All-NBA Boston wing Jaylen Brown’s supermax contract extension, likely leaving Boston unable to acquire Lillard through any realistic collection of assets the team has at their disposal before much of the season passes. Spears added that Lillard remains focused on a trade to the Miami Heat.
What does this mean from Boston’s point of view? Check out tje clip embedded below to hear what CLNS Media reporter Bobby Manning had to say about it.
