Girls swimming and diving: Cards senior finishes strong
Nov. 19—MINNEAPOLIS — Aubrey Schueler swam to three top-15 finishes at the Class A girls swimming and diving championships on Saturday at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center.
The senior swimmer placed 11th in the 100-yard butterfly and 13th in the 50 freestyle. She helped Willmar's 200 freestyle relay team to a 15th-place finish.
Schueler clocked in at 1 minute, 0.47 seconds in the 100 butterfly and finished the 50 freestyle in 24.63 seconds.
The 200 freestyle relay team composed of Noelle Becker, Kaylee Hurley, Cate Brogren and Schueler swam to a time of 1:43.70.
Montevideo's Elizabeth O'Malley also competed at the state meet. She finished in 16th place in the 1-meter diving competition with a score of 291.30.
Visitation won the Class A title with 253 points. Orono was second at 186 and Monticello was third (176).
