Girl's Soccer: Bullard and Jacksonville included among state's best

Feb. 27—The Bullard High School girl's soccer team held on its No. 3 ranking in this week's Texas Girl's Coaches Association Class 4A poll, while the Jacksonville Fightin' Maidens made their season debut in the elite listing.

The Lady Panthers are 16-1 overall and 9-0 in district play. Bullard will put its 15-match winning streak on the line by hosting Grand Saline (0-12, 2-6) tonight.

The Lady Panthers have outscored their opponents 103-7 this season.

Following its 5-1 victory over previously state-ranked Palestine last week, Jacksonville 13-3-1 overall, 8-0 in district, checked in at No. 25 this week.

The Maidens have won nine-straight outings and are averaging 6.5 goals per outing.

Jacksonville will continue conference play by hosting Palestine Westwood (6-11-1, 2-6) this evening.
