Trade: Chiefs trade their conditional 3rd-round pick and 6th-round pick to the Giants for WR Kadarius Toney, per source.

Toney, 23, was a first-round pick in the 2021 draft, selected 20th overall by the Giants. He's been beset by injuries throughout his short professional career, and is currently sidelined with a hamstring issue.
The Giants are shipping Toney out pretty quickly after selecting him in the first round last year. His constant injuries may be part of the reason, as they made it tough for him to establish any consistency. He had to be used in a limited role, which didn't appear to be good for anyone. He appeared in 10 games in 2021, starting four, and had 39 catches for 420 yards and zero touchdowns. This season, he's appeared in just two games, starting one.
While his injury issues (and the subsequent ripple effects) may be part of the reason Toney is heading to Kansas City, there may be another contributing factor: regime change. The Giants kicked head coach Joe Judge to the curb over the offseason and replaced him with Brian Daboll, who has led the team to a truly shocking 6-1 record. Toney was drafted by the previous regime, and he may not fit in with what Daboll and his staff want to do.
Toney will reportedly join the Chiefs this week while they're on bye. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes has already posted his reaction to the trade on Twitter, and he's pretty thrilled with it.
