The Giants placed running back Devonta Freeman on injured reserve on Friday afternoon.

Freeman injured his ankle against the Philadelphia Eagles on Oct. 22, his fifth game with Big Blue. Matt Lombardo reported that he has a high ankle sprain as well as a hamstring injury.

The Giants signed Freeman to a one-year deal after losing Saquon Barkley to a torn ACL in Week 2 in Chicago.

In his five outings with the Giants, Freeman has amassed 172 yards on 54 carries (3.2 yards per carry) while scoring just one touchdown.

If Freeman lands on IR, will be eligible to return in three weeks.
