Giants head coach Joe Judge addressed the situation in which Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley, among other players, were spotted partying without masks or practicing social distancing on Friday night.

When asked about any discipline being handed out to those involved, Judge said that it would be handled internally. However, he also had his players’ backs, believing they had the right intentions by just having dinner together as teammates.

“I’ve spoken to all the individuals involved as well as the entire team on what happened this past weekend. We’re going to deal with things internally,” he told reporters on Tuesday. “The only thing I’m going to say on that is this group of guys have been very responsible from the very beginning. They’ve tried to do the right thing every time. Based on the conversation and information I’ve gathered from our players, I believe they’re trying to do the right thing as teammates by going out and having dinner the other night. We have to make sure that we’re conscious as an organization in everything we do.”

A video went around last Saturday morning that showed the Giants out in Manhattan, but it has since been deleted. Jones and company were at a private room in a restaurant and were then invited to have a drink in a bar that was closed to the public.

A source told SNY’s Ralph Vacchiano that the NFL is investigating the situation, with the possibility that players could face discipline outside of the organization if the league’s COVID policies were broken.

Rookie wide receivers Austin Mack and Binjimen Victory were reportedly with Jones and Barkley. Sterling Shepard is rumored to have been there, too, but there is no proof of it.

The most alarming thing from the night was video that Barkley, who is getting knee surgery later this week, appeared to be riding a bike.

This night came after the Giants blew a fourth-quarter lead to the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday Night Football, losing 22-21 to move to 1-6 on the season. After discussing things with his players, though, Judge is focused on Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers heading into Monday Night Football this week.
