The Giants were without a handful of starters at practice on Wednesday, as the team prepares for its Week 7 matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

Star running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) did not practice, as his status for Sunday is still up in the air. He injured his ankle against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5, and missed last week's game against the Los Angeles Rams. Through five games, Barkley has rushed for 195 yards on 54 carries with two touchdowns and caught 14 passes for 130 yards and a score.

Wide receivers Kenny Golladay (hamstring) and rookie Kadarius Toney (ankle) both missed practice as well on Wednesday. Golladay missed the game against the Rams after suffering his injury in Week 5 against the Cowboys. Toney injured his ankle in the first quarter against the Rams, and is expected to miss this week's game.

Wide receiver John Ross (hamstring) and tight end Kaden Smith (knee) also missed practice with injuries. Ross has shown his playmaking ability so far, making four receptions for 90 yards with a touchdown over three games.

Rookie linebacker Azeez Ojulari was absent from practice for "not injury related" reasons, according to the Giants.

The 2021 second-round pick out of Georgia has made 16 total tackles (nine solo) with three sacks and a forced fumble over six games (three starts).
