Kapler salutes Crawford's Gold Glove with unique perspective originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea

In his two seasons as the Giants' manager, Gabe Kapler has enjoyed a front-row seat to Brandon Crawford's offensive resurrection. He also has seen his shortstop's defensive genius on a daily basis.

On Sunday, Crawford again became the goal for all shortstops on the defensive side of the ball, winning his fourth NL Gold Glove award. Kapler congratulated Crawford on Twitter, giving a unique perspective that the public usually doesn't see.

Barry Bonds' batting practice was an absolute show. Bring your glove, take out your camera and marvel at all the Splash Hits.

Yes, Crawford hit a career-high 24 home runs this season but he'll always be seen for his defense first. Whether you're a child or a big league opponent, everyone is a fan of his wizardry with the glove. His defense alone can create the House of Crawford for a new body of students at Hogwarts.

Crawford's .983 fielding percentage this season was tied for the best of his career. He committed just nine errors out of 517 chances. The 34-year-old also had a 1.3 dWAR.

His six defensive runs saved were his most since 2017, and his 2.6 UZR was his highest since that season as well.

Crawford joined a special group of Willie Mays, Bonds and J.T. Snow as the only four-time Gold Glove winners in Giants franchise history.
