Giants’ Daniel Jones changes representation as free agency looms

Giants’ Daniel Jones changes representation as free agency looms

Slated to become an unrestricted free agent on March 15 and early contract negotiations slow-moving, New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has decided to switch agents.

ESPN’s Jordan Raanan reports that Jones has left CAA and is expected to join Athletes First.

Jones is not the first Giants player to change over to Athletes First this offseason, either. Safety Xavier McKinney also recently made the switch in that direction.

If the Giants agree to terms with DJ prior to free agency, it will give them the flexibility to use the franchise tag on Saquon Barkley, assuming those two sides fail to come to an agreement.

As free agency nears, the Giants will continue to work toward a new deal for their quarterback. Ideally, his new representation can help move negotiations in the right direction.
