George Mason, Howard to play in DC-based Paradise Jam originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
The George Mason Patriots and Howard Bison are two of the four teams that will play in the Paradise Jam located in Washington D.C. this college basketball season.
Northeastern and Belmont will fill out the field for the multi-team event held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Games will be played on Thanksgiving weekend from Nov. 26-28.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the event was relocated from the U.S. Virgin Islands to the mainland. The move limits travel for the four teams and creates a secure and protected environment for the tournament. All members of the tournament - players and staff - will have to follow comprehensive COVID-19 protocols created by local DC health officials.
This season there will not be a traditional bracket. All teams will play each other once and the team at the top of the standings will be crowned champion.

This event will be the first game for each team on the college basketball season. Games will be available to stream on ESPN+.
