Gee's hat trick highlights Bullard's 6-0 bi-district win over North Lamar

Mar. 26—GRAND SALINE — Bullard had no trouble advancing to the area round of the Class 4A, Region II playoffs. Sophomore Niyah Gee made sure of that.

Gee scored three goals in the Lady Panthers' 6-0 blanking of North Lamar Monday night.

The bi-district tilt was played at Grand Saline Indian Stadium.

Other Lady Panthers to crack the scoring column were: Rylie Graul, Mollie Carlile and Alexis Flynn.

Paige Barrett delivered a trio of assists for Bullard while Carlile had two assists and Rylie-Jo Garner one.

The win via shutout was the Lady Panthers 18th of the season, something that Bullard head coach Tiffany Cooksey is proud of.

"The young defensive line that we have has only allowed five goals under the leadership of junior goalkeeper (and captain) Ramzee Matejka," Cooksey said.

With more challenging playoff opponents on the horizon, Cooksey added that it was "a game that we were able to work on our attacking from back to front."

North Lamar, the fourth place club put of District 13-4A, finished the year with a 6-10-2 worksheet.

Bullard (21-2) will face either Kilgore or Hudson in the Area round later this week.
