GC Softball: Blooming Grove wraps up non-district games with 9-1 romp

Mar. 11—BLOOMING GROVE — Joanna Smith's Lady Lions put an exclamation point on their pre-district season with a 9-1 romp over Scurry-Rosser Friday and look ready to make a run at a district title.

That run starts at 2 p.m. Tuesday at home against Eustace, and hopefully ends with a title and No. 1 seed in the playoffs.

The Lady Lions had no trouble dispatching SR with ease. Sophomore Rileigh O'Dell started and went five innings, striking out six while allowing just one runs, and Ava Eldridge went the final two innings, striking out three without allowing a base runner. Ava aso went 2-for-4 at the plate.

Makenna Davis had a big day, going 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and a walk, and drove in three runs. Carli Cunningham went 2-for-4 and scored three runs and Savannah Leverett had a single and scored three times.
