GC Girls Soccer: Lady Tigers inch closer to playoff berth with dramatic tie against Terrell

Mar. 4—Corsicana's Lady Tiger soccer team inched a little closer to the playoffs with a brilliant comeback against Terrell, scoring with less than four minutes on the clock when senior leader Sahara Gipson, who has been a scoring machine all four years she has played for the Lady Tigers, scored to knot the score at 4-4 at Community National Bank & Trust Stadium.

Marche Belmontes scored twice for the Lady Tigers and Mya Jasso had a big goal before Gipson nailed down the tie. Kiana Wilson-Lopez had three key assists.

Gipson's goal turned a possible loss into a 4-4 tie and means the Lady Tigers stay in fourth-place with two games left in the district season. They play Crandall at home Tuesday and wrap up the regular season against 0-10 Lancaster at home Friday. Both games start at 7:15 p.m. The Lady Tigers defeated Crandall 5-1 and beat Lancaster 8-0 earlier.
