GC Baseball: Kerens' Kannon Ritchie strikes out 16 in one-hit 1-0 win over Rockdale

Mar. 8—ROCKDALE — The Kerens Bobcats used the oldest and best formula for winning baseball when they played in Rockdale Thursday — great pitching and timely hitting.

Kannon Ritchie came through on the mound with a brilliant performance, striking out 16 in a one-hit shutout and Adrian Solis came up with a key RBI single in the fifth to drive in courtesy runner Kobe Bailey in Kerens' 1-0 victory Thursday.

Ritchie faced 23 batters and sent 16 home with a K by their name to nail down the win, and his twin brother, Krayton, had one of Kerens' four hits in the pitching battle. JJ Hightower and, Lane Lynch had the other two hits for Kerens.
