Gators stand pat in USA TODAY Sports bracketology ahead of ‘Bama

Florida basketball has won nine of its last 12 games, but unfortunately, is coming off a loss at the South Carolina Gamecocks that the Gators were in control of for three-quarters of the matchup. Still, dropping a game on the road to a top-25 team is not the worst thing that could happen to Todd Golden’s gang.

Following Saturday’s defeat, USA TODAY Sports’s bracketology kept Florida at a No. 6 seed, but this time moving from the East Region to the Midwest Region. There, the Gators are grouped with the No. 3 Creighton Bluejays, No. 11 Nebraska Cornhuskers and No. 14 Vermont Catamounts.

The Southeastern Conference is represented by the West Region’s top-seeded Tennessee Volunteers, along with the Alabama Crimson Tide (No. 3, South), Kentucky Wildcats (No. 4, Midwest), Auburn Tigers (No. 5, East), South Carolina Gamecocks (No. 6, East) and Mississippi State Bulldogs (No. 8, South).

The Gators return home for a rematch against Alabama on Tuesday, March 5, inside the O’Connell Center. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. ET and the game will be broadcast on ESPN.
