The weekend is nearly here and with it comes a slate of sports to keep Gator Nation satiated for the next few days. On tap, we have volleyball’s big win last night, plus both the men’s and women’s tennis teams are in action while the women’s basketball team warms up for the season with an exhibition game. Unfortunately, the swimming and diving team had its dual meet canceled, but there is still the football game scheduled for Saturday night. It should be a fun weekend for Florida fans, so let us dive right into things.

Volleyball

The No. 23 volleyball team defended its home court on Thursday night with a 3-1 win over the No. 22 Tennessee Volunteers. The win improves the Gators to a 15-6 record on the year and a 9-2 mark in conference play. The Gators return to action next Friday when it travels to face the Arkansas Razorbacks for back-to-back matches.

Women's tennis

The women’s tennis team has two of its student-athletes in competition this weekend at the ITA National Fall Championships in San Diego, California: Carly Briggs and Marlee Zein. In the meantime, take a look at the latest renovations to the team’s home court above.

Men's tennis

The men’s tennis team is back in action starting Friday at the Clemson Hidden Duals in Clemson, South Carolina, which lasts until Sunday. Nate Bonetto and Lukas Greif will make the trip to represent the Orange and Blue in the event. First serve today and tomorrow is at 9:30 a.m. and 2: 30 p.m. EDT, while Sunday’s action starts at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. EST.

Swimming and diving

The No. 3 men’s and No. 12 women’s swimming and diving teams have canceled their Friday dual meet against the Florida State Seminoles in Tallahassee, Florida. No reason was immediately given.

Women's basketball

The women’s basketball team plays its lone exhibition game ahead of the 2021-22 season against the Flagler College Lions on Friday night in the O’Connell Center. The squad features a new head coach and hopefully a new outlook after a tumultuous offseason, and will tip off at 6 p.m. EDT. The match can be watched on the SEC Network+.

Football

The football team also travels to South Carolina this weekend, this time to face the Gamecocks on the college gridiron. Below is our coverage ahead of the game so far.
