GameCenter final: Colorado College 6, UND 2

Feb. 17—COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Colorado College scored four times in the third period to pull away from UND and win the series finale 6-2 to sweep the regular-season series.

First period: Kaidan Mbereko, CC, career-high 43 saves.

Second star: Noah Laba, CC, 1 goal, 3 points

Third star: Gleb Veremyev, CC, 2 goals.

UND 1, Colorado College 0 — Abram Wiebe 1 (Jayden Perron, Riese Gaber) 5:49. UND gets on the board first on a rush off a defensive zone draw. Perron carries the puck on the left wing and spots Wiebe jumping into the play. Wiebe wires one past Tiger goalie Kaidan Mbereko for his first collegiate goal.

UND 1, Colorado College 1 — Jack Millar 4 (Noah Laba) 6:03. The lead lasts just 14 seconds as the Tigers strike back on the next shift. Laba backhands a puck from the end wall through UND forward Dylan James and all the way to the point, where Millar rips one through a Gleb Veremyev screen to tie it.

UND 2, Colorado College 1 — Cameron Berg 16 (Jake Livanavage, Jackson Blake) 19:51 (pp). UND takes advantage of a five-minute major to Noah Laba for boarding Keaton Pehrson. Berg has the puck in the left circle and snaps a shot through a Louis Jamernik V screen and just inside the post.

UND 2, Colorado College 2 — Evan Werner 5 (Max Burkholder, Chase Foley) 17:00. Mbereko makes a terrific save on Ben Strinden on one end and the Tigers go the other way and score to tie it. Burkholder has the puck in space at the right point and launches it as Werner is skating across the crease. The puck hits Werner's skate and deflects in. It breaks a 20-game goal drought for Werner.

Colorado College 3, UND 2 — Logan Will 7 (Klavs Veinbergs, Nicklas Andrews) 4:19. Just as a Colorado College power play expires, Veinbergs hits Will in the slot and the Tiger captain snaps a shot past Persson's pad to give Colorado College its first lead of the night.

Colorado College 4, UND 2 — Gleb Veremyev 11 (Noah Laba, Zaccharya Wisdom) 9:12. The Tigers add to the lead when Laba snaps a shot from the left circle and it leaks through Persson and sits on the goal line. Veremyev whacks it across to finish the play.

Colorado College 5, UND 2 — Gleb Veremyev 12 (Zaccharya Wisdom) 10:12. Colorado College tacks on a third goal when Wisdom's shot hits the skate of a UND defenseman and lands in the crease, where Veremyev cleans it up for his second goal in 60 seconds.

Colorado College 6, UND 2 — Noah Laba 16 (Drew Montgomery) 13:27. Laba ices it with an empty-netter.
