Game time announced for Dolphins-Bills finale with AFC East title on the line

The Miami Dolphinsregular-season finale at home against the Buffalo Bills will get the national treatment it deserves.

The NFL announced Sunday night the Week 18 meeting between the AFC East rivals will be next Sunday night at 8:20 p.m. The game will air on NBC.

The two teams’ Sunday results set up a scenario where the winner of the finale wins the division. The Dolphins (11-5) were crushed by the Baltimore Ravens, 56-19, and the Bills (10-6) defeated the New England Patriots.

If Miami wins against Buffalo, the Dolphins, as AFC East champions, seal the No. 2 seed, something the team hasn’t had since 1992. They would host the conference’s No. 7 seed in a wild-card playoff game.

If the Bills win, they take the division from the Dolphins and Miami ends up as the AFC’s No. 6, traveling to the third-seeded Kansas City Chiefs in the first round. Although the Dolphins and Bills would finish the regular season with the same record in this scenario, Buffalo would own the tiebreaker by way of a season sweep.

The Bills took down the Dolphins, 48-20, on Oct. 1 in Orchard Park in the rivals’ first meeting.
