Gainesville loses home finale; Muenster, Sacred Heart lead local playoff pack

Nov. 4—Regular season play wrapped up Friday night around Cooke County.

Gainesville's furious second half comeback from a 24-0 halftime deficit came up just short at home against Krum. Sacred Heart won its fourth in a row and Muenster topped Celeste. Whitesboro secured a playoff spot with a big win over Ponder. Era, Valley View and Callisburg all suffered tough losses.

As for the playoffs, several Cooke County teams will be in action next week. Muenster (6-4) hosts Haskell (4-5) at 7 p.m. Thursday. Whitesboro (5-5) visits Jim Ned (8-2) Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff, while Sacred Heart (7-3) hosts Rosehill Christian (2-8) at the same time.
