Greater Cincinnati got not one but two shout-outs Friday at the White House.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki, who is married to Cincinnatian Greg Mecher, offered a boost, or something, to the Bengals ahead of their playoff game Saturday.

“One last thing, the Bengals are playing tomorrow. I'm just giving it a shout-out so that my husband will be excited at home. They haven't won a playoff game in 31 years.”

Mecher, a Delhi Township native and Elder High School graduate, married Psaki in 2010.

President Joe Biden himself singled out the region's top public works priority in an event updating money rolling out under the new infrastructure law passed last year.

"My infrastructure law includes a total of $40 billion in funding for bridge improvements. $12.5 billion of that is going replace most — the most economically significant bridges in the country.

These are bridges like — and I’ve seen them — the Brent Spence Bridge connecting Ohio and Kentucky; the I-5 Columbia River Crossing connecting Washington and Oregon; you know, the Blatnik Bridge connecting Minnesota and Wisconsin."
