With the 2022 NFL schedule now out, it’s time for The Fresno’s Bee’s way-too-early season win-loss predictions for the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Raiders will enter the season with several key new faces on the roster, led by Pro Bowl wide receiver Davante Adams and defensive end Chandler Jones.

It also will be the first season that Josh McDaniels will lead the team after he took over for interim coach Rich Bisaccia.

Las Vegas made the playoffs a year ago, defeating the Los Angeles Chargers 36-33 in overtime to close the regular season and clinch a playoff berth at 10-7.

The Raiders have kept improving each season since 2019 (7-9 in 2019 and 8-8 in 2020).

Making predictions is always hard to do, especially this far ahead of even the exhibition season. But looking at the Raiders’ schedule, it may not be as tough as it first appears, even with the team rated as having the seventh-hardest schedule (opponents’ win percentage .528) in the NFL this season.

Let’s dive into The Bee’s game-by-game predictions.

2022 Raiders’ schedule/predictions

Week 1: Sept. 11 at Los Angeles Chargers, 1:25 p.m. (CBS)

What a way to start off the season. Two teams who know each other well and both closed 2021 with a playoff berth on the line.

The Chargers were hoping for at least a tie to get in the playoffs, but the Raiders dashed those hopes by winning 36-33 in overtime. This time, the game will be at SoFi Stadium and will be a tough one. It always is in the AFC West.

Los Angeles won’t forget last season’s disappointment and has its own key additions in LB Khalil Mack, CB J.C. Jackson, LB Kyle Van Noy, CB Bryce Callahan and DL Sebastian Joseph-Day.

The Raiders have faced the Chargers 124 times and lead the all-time series 66-56-2 (.541) after splitting the two games with the Chargers in 2021.

Week 2: Sept. 18 vs. Arizona Cardinals, 1:25 p.m. (CBS)

First home game for Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams and it’ll be reunion time for defensive end Chandler Jones, who spent the past six seasons in Arizona.

The Cardinals finished last season at 11-6 and lost in the wild-card round to the Los Angeles Rams 34-11.

Arizona added WR Marquise Brown, G Will Hernandez, LB Nick Vigil and CB Jeff Gladney, but also lost key players such as RB Chase Edmonds, WR Christian Kirk and CB Malcolm Butler.

The Raiders lead the all-time series against the Cardinals 6-4 (.600).

We believe the Raiders will bounce back with a win as Maxx Crosby and Jones make things tough on Arizona quarterback Kyler Murray.

Prediction: Raiders 38, Cardinals 28.

Week 3: Sept. 25 at Tennessee Titans, 10 a.m. (FOX)

Another road trip for the Raiders, this time headed east.

The Titans finished last season 12-5 and lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in the Divisional Round and will certainly hope to rebound this season, led by running back Derrick Henry.

Tennessee lost a slew of players, but added WR Robert Woods and TEs Austin Hooper and Geoff Swaim.

The Silver and Black lead the all-time regular season series 26-21 (.553), including a 3-0 mark at Nissan Stadium since 2015.

We expect the Raiders to come out on top in this matchup.

Prediction: Raiders 27, Titans 20

Week 4: Oct. 2 vs. Denver Broncos, 1:25 p.m. (CBS)

It’s a whole different look for the Broncos this time around, led by the offseason acquisition of Russell Wilson.

Denver swung a deal with the Seattle Seahawks to acquire the quarterback and attempt to boost the Broncos’ chances of a postseason berth this season after finishing 7-10 in 2021 with Teddy Bridgewater and Drew Lock behind center.

The Broncos are obviously much improved on paper and will pose a threat to any team they face.

Denver added other notable players in DE Randy Gregory, DT D.J. Jones, LB Josey Jewell and CB K’Waun Williams.

The Silver and Black have played Denver 123 times in the regular season, owning a 68-53-2 (.561) advantage in the all-time series.

Week 5: Oct. 10 at Kansas City Chiefs, 5:15 p.m. (ESPN)

It’s a trip to Arrowhead Stadium, where the Chiefs usually have the Raiders’ number.

It’s also a prime-time game.

The Raiders won’t have to worry about covering WR Tyreek Hill, who joined the Miami Dolphins, but Kansas City has added RB Ronald Jones, WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling and S Justin Reid.

Kansas City finished last season 12-5 and lost in the AFC Championship 27-24.

The Raiders will be paired with the Chiefs for the first time since 2003, marking the Raiders’ fifth-ever trip to Arrowhead Stadium for a MNF game and the first since 1992.

The Raiders hold a 25-36-1 all-time record at Arrowhead Stadium and are looking for their second road victory against the Chiefs in the past three seasons after losing seven straight from 2013 to 2019.

It will be a close game.

Prediction: Chiefs 28, Raiders 24

Week 6: Bye

The Raiders get a much-needed week off here.

The Texans come to Allegiant Stadium, hoping they’re on their way to a better 2022 season.

It’s back home for the Raiders, who will welcome in QB Matt Ryan.

The Colts missed out on the playoffs last season, losing down the stretch to the Raiders and the Jaguars.

It was tough sledding for Indianapolis toward the end of a 2021 season that saw it go 9-8. The Colts went in another direction at QB this offseason, trading for Ryan.

The Las Vegas Raiders and Indianapolis Colts meet at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022.
The Las Vegas Raiders and Indianapolis Colts meet at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022.

A Ryan-led team is always going to be tough, especially with the additions on defense such as DE Yannick Ngakoue, who vowed to make the Raiders pay for trading him, The Colts also added CB Stephon Gilmore and former Raiders CB Brandon Facyson, who played well for Las Vegas under now Colts defensive coordinator Gus Bradley..
