Free agent safety Adrian Amos visiting Ravens
Free agent safety Adrian Amos, who played the last four seasons with the Green Bay Packers, is visiting the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, according to reporting from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler and SI.com’s Bill Huber.
Amos, who turns 30 in April, played in all 71 games (including five playoff games) for the Packers between the 2019 and 2022 seasons.
Amos’ contract with the Packers voided in February, making him an unrestricted free agent. His previous deal – which was twice restructured – will leave behind almost $8 million in dead money on the cap in 2023 whether Amos is on the roster or not.
Amos is a Baltimore native who attended Penn State, so a deal with the Ravens would provide a homecoming for the veteran defensive back.
It’s unclear if the Packers are attempting to bring back Amos for next season.
If Amos signs with the Ravens, the Packers could be looking for two new starting safeties in 2023. Darnell Savage is expected to move to the slot after losing his starting job at safety midway through last season. The Packers re-signed Rudy Ford, who took Savage’s spot, and signed Tarvarius Moore, who previously started games for the 49ers.
Amos intercepted seven passes and made 362 tackles during his four seasons with the Packers.
