Ryan “freakazoid” Abadir is no longer on Cloud9′s active CS:GO roster following a string of poor results internationally.
Freakazoid had played for Cloud9 for a year, assuming a major role in the team’s exceptional placements last summer. But recently Cloud9 has been struggling to find their footing against domestic teams and more so against the Europeans, highlighted with an exit in the group stage of MLG Columbus.
In Freakazoid’s departure, Cloud9 will use Eric “adreN” Hoag, formerly of Team Liquid, for their upcoming tournament qualifiers and league games. While adreN is still under contract at Team Liquid, and Freakazoid is still under contract at Cloud9 - nothing is cemented yet in terms of rosters for both of these players.
For a short era Cloud9 was undoubtedly the best team in North America, however in the fall the team replaced IGL Sean “Sgares” Gares with up-and-comer Jake “Stewie2k” Yip to little success.
