Four Tigers make Perfect Game’s top 100 juniors list

Perfect Game has recently announced its top 100 juniors list as we head into the 2024 baseball season and four Tigers made the top 50 of that list.

Tommy White, Thatcher Hurd, Luke Holman and Gage Jump all find themselves in the Top 50 of the star-studded list.

What more can I say about Tommy Tanks that hasn’t already been said? He came to Baton Rouge with an amount of hype that not many players could have handled yet he exceeded expectations.

Hurd had a rough start to his 2023 campaign but Jay Johnson never gave up on him and it paid off as Hurd got the win Game 3 of the College World Series to take down the Gators.

Holman and Jump are both new in Baton Rouge but they will serve as two of the starting pitchers for the Tigers this Spring.

Tommy Tanks was one of the best hitters in the country last year and the Tigers could not have won the National Championship without him. Look no further than his walk-off homer against Wake Forest in Omaha to send LSU to the National Championship Series against the Florida Gators.

White batted .374 last season with 24 doubles, 24 homers, 105 RBI and 64 runs scored.

Speaking of the College World Series, Thatcher Hurd was the man who got the final win of the season for the Tigers. He pitched six innings and only allowed two runs on two hits while he led LSU to an 18-4 win in Game Three.

He posted an 8-2 overall record with a 5.68 ERA and three saves last season with 84 strikeouts in 63.1 innings.

Luke Holman is a new kid on the block in Baton Rouge as he has spent his last two seasons in Tuscaloosa playing for Alabama. He was the ace for the Crimson Tide and had a stellar year last season finishing with a 7-4 record and a 3.67 ERA.

Gage Jump is another new guy to the program. He has made a “Jump” to Baton Rouge from UCLA where he spent his last two seasons. He did not play in 2023 due to an injury but in 2022 he finished with a 1-1 record and a 3.86 ERA.
