Fans have been circling this weekend as a key for Georgia's recruiting for some time, and it appears that confidence was well placed, as 2019 linebacker JD Bertrand has announced his commitment to the Bulldogs.
The four-star rising junior hails from Roswell's Blessed Trinity High School and measures in at 6-foot-1, 210 pounds.
"There is a lot I like about Georgia," Bertrand told Rivals.com's Chad Simmons just two weeks ago. "I have been around there a lot as a fan and as a recruit, so I know what Athens is like."
Bertrand, who grew up as a fan of the Bulldogs, received clear indicators early on that the team had high interest in obtaining his services.
"I know Georgia wants me," Bertrand told Simmons. "I have talked to Coach [Kirby] Smart many times, and he tells me that he likes me and that he wants me there."
How did he reach the decision? Bertrand said this would be all about feel.
"Whenever I commit, I will go off where I feel the best at," he said. "That is what is most important to me."
MORE TO COME.
