Assane Diop is a four-star big man in the 2023 recruiting class and he is down to eight schools, one of which is Auburn.

He announced a top eight of Auburn, Arkansas, BYU, Seton Hall, Kansas State, Arizona State, Ohio State, and Colorado, Tuesday night on Twitter.

Diop is a 6-foot-10, 190-pound center from Denver, Colorado who can also play power forward. He is rated as the No. 81 overall recruit and No. 11 center in the 247Sports composite raking. He is also ranked as the No. 2 player in Colorado.

He is cousins with the five-star prospect and No. 12 overall recruit Baye Fall, who is also an Auburn target. The two have expressed interest in applying together at the next level and both took an official visit to the plains on June 20.

Diop has an impressive frame an a great motor but is quite thin, which is to be expected of a player his age. He has flashed some playmaking ability and can score when facing the basket.
