Four Stabbed at Green Hill School in Chehalis Sunday
Aug. 23—An 18-year-old inmate at Green Hill School allegedly stabbed four victims at the Chehalis juvenile detention facility Sunday evening.
The alleged assailant, Robert D. Knesevich, 18, of Silverdale, had reportedly been in custody at Green Hill on Aug. 22 awaiting transfer into Department of Corrections custody when, around 8 p.m., he attacked another Green Hill inmate, resulting in "a brief altercation," according to the state Department of Children, Youth and Families, which operates Green Hill School.
"Thanks to our phenomenal staff, the individual was isolated from the rest of the residents without any critical injuries," the department said in an official statement.
The Chehalis Police Department was dispatched to the Green Hill campus in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street at 8:10 p.m. on reports of an assault in progress.
All four victims received immediate medical treatment on the scene and their conditions are unknown, according to the Chehalis Police Department. No information on the victims' identities has been released.
Knesevich has been transported to the Lewis County Jail and has been charged with first-degree assault and custodial assault. He is scheduled to make a preliminary appearance in Lewis County Superior Court at 4 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 23.
