A pair of former University of Tennessee basketball players competed in the NBA Wednesday as their team lost a road game.

Grant Williams and Josh Richardson appeared for Boston in their 110-99 loss to the Hawks at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

Williams, a third year player, started at power forward. The former Vol and two-time Southeastern Conference Player of the Year played 30 minutes. He had 18 points and six rebounds.

Williams was 6-for-12 from the floor and 3-for-8 from beyond the 3-point arc. He converted all three of his free throw attempts.

Richardson came off the bench and logged 27 points, totaling 11 points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal.

He was 5-for-10 from the floor and 1-for-4 from long range for the Celtics.
