Three former University of Tennessee basketball players competed in the NBA Friday.

In Boston, the Celtics outlasted the defending NBA champion Milwaukee Bucks, 122-113, at TD Garden.

Two former Vols made appearances off the bench for Boston.

Josh Richardson totaled eight points, six rebounds, two assists and one block in the Celtics’ victory.

He played 28 minutes and went 2-for-6 from the floor, 0-for-3 from beyond the 3-point arc and 4-for-4 from the free throw line.

Former two-time Southeastern Conference Player of the Year Grant Williams scored four points for Boston. He was 2-for-4 from the floor and 0-for-2 from long range.

Williams had two rebounds and two assists, while logging 16 minutes of playing time.

In Memphis, the Grizzlies fell to Phoenix, 119-94, at FedEx Forum.

Yves Pons played three minutes and recorded one rebound. He was 0-for-1 from the floor.
