A two-time All-ACC defender at North Carolina, Surratt played in nine games for the Vikings in 2021 and was in the middle of a four-year deal he signed.
A fresh start could be a good thing for the talented linebacker. In two seasons at the position at UNC, Surratt totaled 207 tackles, 22.5 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks.
Surratt now joins former Tar Heels teammate Michael Carter, a key piece to the Jets offense heading into this season.
