It didn’t take long for former UNC basketball commit Simeon Wilcher to plan a visit to another program. About 24 hours after Wilcher asked for his release, the guard has a visit set up.

Per multiple reports, Wilcher will take a visit to St. John’s on Thursday, the first in his new recruitment.

Wilcher is a New York native, so the news of him heading to St. John’s to visit Rick Pitino’s program is not a shock. Just over a month ago, rumblings hinted Pitino was targeting both Wilcher and five-star 2024 recruit Ian Jackson in their recruitments.

Now, Pitino gets the shot to land his first big-time recruit that can come in and play at St. John’s right away. With Wilcher being a recruit again, the process should move quickly especially with summer enrollment coming up.
