Former UGA WR Chris Conley signs new contract with Texans

According to Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network, former Georgia football wide receiver Chris Conley has been signed to a new one-year contract with the Houston Texans.

Per Wilson, the deal is for $2 million total, including a $1.5 million base salary. $500,000 of the deal will be fully guaranteed, and Conley will receive a $250,000 signing bonus and up to $250,000 in per-game active roster bonuses. In addition, he will have a $500,000 catches-playtime incentive.

After being selected in the third round of the 2015 NFL draft by the Kansas City Chiefs, Conley has been playing with the Texans for the past year, after signing with them in March of 2021.

When asked about Conley, Texans’ Head Coach, David Culley, stated:

“He’s a kid that can run. He’s had some experience in this league. He’s been productive. He kind of fits with what we want out there at that position. You want that kind of guy, not necessarily have to have that, but he fits what you want out there.

At the University of Georgia, Conley finished his career as a Bulldog with 76 receptions, 1,938 career reception yards, and 20 touchdowns.
