Former Titans TE Anthony Firkser agrees to terms with Patriots

Former Tennessee Titans and Atlanta Falcons tight end Anthony Firkser has reportedly agreed to terms on a deal with the New England Patriots.

The news comes from ESPN’s Mike Reiss, who notes that Firkser will be competing for the No. 3 tight end role. The length and financial terms of Firkser’s deal were not disclosed.

An undrafted free agent out of Harvard, Firkser spent his first four seasons with the Titans, where he proved to be a solid pass-catcher and compiled 1,107 yards and five touchdowns in that span.

Firkser was expected to take on a bigger role in 2021 but that never panned out, leading to his exit from Nashville the following offseason.

The 28-year-old landed with his former Titans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith in Atlanta in 2022, appearing in 11 games and tallying 100 yards and zero touchdowns before not being brought back this offseason.

Firkser will now look to get his career back on track in New England.
