Former Sixers forward Marial Shayok to sign with Burspasor in Turkey

The Philadelphia 76ers selected Marial Shayok with the 54th pick in the 2019 NBA draft and he spent the majority of the season with the team’s G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats. He played some games up with the Sixers due to the fact that he was on a two-way deal, but the team waived him in November.

He was terrific in Delaware averaging 22.4 points and 5.8 rebounds while shooting 35.8% from deep on 7.2 attempts and he also showed a flair for the dramatic with some clutch shots. He played four games with the Sixers and he averaged 2.8 points and he shot 2-for-6 from deep.

Looking for his next opportunity, Shayok will sign with Burspasor in Turkey according to Sportrando:

Turkish side Frutti Extra Bursaspor has announced the signings of Justin Tillman and Marial Shayok.

Tillman comes off a season started with Dinamo Sassari, while Shayok was waived in November by the Philadelphia 76ers with whom was on a two-way deal.

The Sixers brought in Shayok, but he was not able to crack the team’s rotation. It makes sense due to the fact that Philadelphia had some proven veterans on their roster and they have the G League team there for a reason. Now, he has an opportunity in Turkey to continue his basketball career.
