Former Ravens RB to face off against RB Adrian Peterson in exhibition boxing match

The Baltimore Ravens needed to sign many different veteran running backs before the 2021 season began due to the season-ending injuries suffered by J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards and Justice Hill. Latavius Murray, Devonta Freeman and Le’Veon Bell were each signed, but their running game wasn’t nearly the same without their injured stars.

In an official announcement on Twitter, Bell revealed that he’ll be taking his talents to the boxing ring, where he’ll face off with fellow veteran running back Adrian Peterson in an exhibition boxing match. The bout was rumored to be happening, but now it’s all systems go.

The match will take place on Saturday, July 30th in Los Angeles, California. Bell used boxing as cardio during his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the sport has been a passion for the running back. He called out Jake Paul on Twitter, and even performed a boxing-inspired touchdown celebration after scoring in Week 9 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Bell only played in five games with Baltimore, totaling 31 carries for 81 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. He was then waived in the middle of the season, where he then latched on with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
