A month after undergoing heart surgery, former Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist says that he feels strong and his recovery is going really well.
New York and Lundqvist parted ways this offseason, and the veteran goalie decided to sign with the Washington Capitals. However, Lundqvist was told he needed to stop playing to undergo open heart surgery for a heart condition that he played through for some time during his career.
Recovering in New York City, Lundqvist wanted to check in with his fans to let them know he was doing well.
“Checking in from a snowy New York City. It’s been a month today since the surgery and I feel good,” he said. “Good energy, moving around. Hope you guys are well.”
As he added to the Tweet, Lundqvist wasn’t sure how to feel following the surgery, but it’s good to see Hank is moving forward positively.
