Here’s your weekly reminder that there still a whole lot of swell dudes out there, walking amongst our ranks, catching basketballs hurled by men in giant bear suits.

Houston Rockets legend Hakeem Olajuwon was in attendance as the Rockets extended Philadelphia’s losing streak on Thursday night, and because the game had turned into a blowout by halftime, the Rockets’ mascot Clutch needed to liven things up a bit during a timeout. He grabbed a basketball, asked Hakeem to sign it, then tossed it into the crowd and … watch:

That is quite the cool move, Mr. Tuffy Rhodes, who famously hit three home runs on opening day for the Chicago Cubs in 1994 before going on to become a slugging star in Japan (and not Jamaica, as Clyde Drexler contends). Especially when giving it to a lucky kid with his own jersey – one that has better seats than you!

Hopefully, with this gesture, he’ll grow up to have a giving heart like yours. Kudos, Tuffy Rhodes.
